The open-source tool turns existing chat channels into shared workspaces where people and AI agents collaborate with the same context.
SandboxAQ on Aug. 26 announced Switch, open-source software that brings AI agents into the collaboration tools companies already use, such as Slack, Microsoft Teams and Discord. The software can be activated within minutes in a standard enterprise environment at no cost, the company said.
Switch connects agents into shared workspaces so that people and AI agents can collaborate in the same channel rather than passing work between separate tools. The software is designed to be platform- and model-agnostic, letting teams bring their own agents — built with Claude Code, Google’s Agent Development Kit, LangChain, OpenAI’s tooling or other frameworks — into a common workspace through MCP, APIs and adapters, without locking workflows into a single AI ecosystem.

“Every team we talk to has capable agents trapped in separate tools, and a coordination tax eating the productivity those agents were supposed to deliver,” said Mohammed Aboul-Magd, general manager of SandboxAQ. “Switch pulls agents into the channels where teams already work, where knowledge compounds instead of being relearned with every task. If you can message a colleague, you can put an agent to work.”

SandboxAQ said its own engineering, design and marketing teams used Switch to build Switch, collaborating inside rooms throughout development and launch.
