Early-stage product planning that used to take months, spanning branding, compliance, and marketing reviews, can now be structured in minutes.
NTT DATA, a global leader in AI, digital business, and technology services, today announced the launch of an AI agent service designed to accelerate early-stage product planning for food, beverage, and consumer goods companies. The service will be available globally from July 2026.
In traditional product development, early-stage activities, spanning idea generation, internal alignment, and initial reviews across branding, compliance, and marketing, can take several months to complete. The new agentic service from NTT DATA is designed to significantly expedite this process, enabling teams to generate and structure product concepts in minutes and move them more quickly to the internal evaluation and decision-making phases.
The service generates structured product concept proposals covering feature design, naming, value propositions, sales forecasts, and visual concept imagery, delivered in a format that allows them to be reviewed and used directly in business settings. It is designed to work with a company’s own brand guidelines, target segments, and product strategy, ensuring outputs are tailored rather than generic.

Based on deployment and testing with global consumer goods manufacturers in Europe and Japan, the service incorporates integrated sales forecasting to support early assessment of market potential, industry-specific expert agents tailored to food, beverage, and consumer goods planning, and extensibility to incorporate additional agents based on product or company requirements. The service also includes specific controls to ensure that proprietary company data is handled securely within each client’s environment.
“Product teams are under growing pressure to identify and capitalize on emerging consumer trends faster than current planning cycles typically allow,” said Mizuho Mitake, Head of CPG, Retail & Process Manufacturing, Japan, NTT DATA. “Our new AI agent service is designed to give those teams the speed and structure needed to deliver the products customers want without sacrificing the rigor real-world product development demands.”
NTT DATA plans to expand the service over time to support downstream product design processes, including formulation, packaging, and production feasibility, with the aim of improving speed and quality across the broader product development lifecycle.
