Must read

Transit Technologies names Srithal Bellary as Chief Technology, Data & AI Officer to lead platform modernization and develop an AI-powered operating suite for transit systems.

Transit Technologies, a provider of software platforms for public transportation systems, announced today that Srithal Bellary has been appointed Chief Technology, Data & AI Officer.

In the newly created role, Bellary will oversee the company’s technology roadmap as it works to unify its product portfolio into a single, AI-powered operating platform for transit agencies and operators.

The appointment follows the recent hiring of Cristina Wheless as Chief Operating Officer, part of a broader effort to strengthen Transit Technologies’ leadership team as the company expands.

Driving an AI-First Platform

Bellary will be responsible for guiding Transit Technologies’ end-to-end technology strategy, including architecture, engineering, data analytics, cybersecurity, and product innovation. His primary objective is to modernize and integrate the company’s suite of solutions — which includes TripShot, TripMaster, Passio, Ecolane, MJM, ByteCurve, and busHive — into a cohesive Transit Operating Suite.

The goal, the company said, is to create an intelligent, connected platform capable of delivering safer, more efficient, and more personalized transit services.

“Srithal brings a rare combination of deep technical expertise, platform-scale vision, and AI-first leadership,” said Gerry Leonard, Chief Executive Officer of Transit Technologies. “He understands how to transform complex, fragmented systems into cohesive platforms that deliver measurable outcomes. His leadership will be critical as we build the next generation of intelligent mobility solutions for agencies, operators, and riders.”

Experience Across Complex Industries

Bellary joins Transit Technologies with more than 20 years of experience leading large-scale technology transformations in heavily regulated industries. He has held senior engineering and product leadership positions at CVS Health, ADP, Mercer, and Public Partnerships (PPL), where he oversaw enterprise modernization initiatives and built data platforms designed to improve efficiency and user experience.

“My focus has always been on using data and platform thinking to simplify complexity and unlock new value,” Bellary said. “Transportation is at a pivotal moment. By converging systems, embedding intelligence, and designing for scale, we have an opportunity to fundamentally transform how agencies operate and how riders experience mobility. I’m excited to help Transit Technologies lead that transformation.”

Building the Next Generation of Transit Technology

Under Bellary’s leadership, the company said it will increase investment in predictive analytics, automation, and connected systems, with the aim of creating self-learning platforms that adapt in real time to the needs of cities and communities.

The move reflects Transit Technologies’ broader strategy to evolve from a collection of individual software products into an integrated digital ecosystem for modern transit operations.

Bellary’s appointment marks a significant step in that transition as the company continues to grow its presence among public and private transportation agencies across the United States.
