Nutanix updated its Cloud Platform to let companies govern infrastructure across global, disconnected environments. The move addresses the increasing demand for data sovereignty and security in AI workloads.
Nutanix, a leader in hybrid multicloud computing, today announced a major expansion of its Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP) designed to give organizations more control and flexibility over their infrastructure in distributed environments. This strategic move directly addresses the escalating global requirements for data sovereignty and business continuity across traditional, modern, and high-security AI applications.
As multinational organizations navigate complex and evolving regulatory environments, they strive to maintain operational flexibility without being tied to a single cloud vendor. The new capabilities in NCP enable customers to define and enforce their own sovereign boundaries across their own data centers and in partnership with sovereign cloud providers, allowing for a greater focus on resilience, security, and global governance.
Key Enhancements Targeting Sovereignty and AI:
- On-Premises Governance: To eliminate reliance on external SaaS, solutions like Nutanix Central (for cloud management) and Nutanix Data Lens (for data security and ransomware resilience) can now be run entirely within the customer’s controlled on-premises environments.
- Government-Grade Security: The platform strengthens support for regulated and AI workloads through the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI). This includes FIPS and STIG-compliant images, and stronger security for NVIDIA AI Enterprise software running AI models.
- Expanded Ecosystem: Nutanix is deepening its global reach, including new availability for Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) on Google Cloud across 17 regions, and the addition of Nutanix Government Cloud Clusters (GC2) on AWS for U.S. federal agencies.
“As sovereign cloud architectures become a defining priority for organizations, we’re introducing several enhancements to the Nutanix Cloud Platform that help customers meet these needs without giving up the advantages of a distributed cloud infrastructure,” said Thomas Cornely, Executive Vice President of Product Management at Nutanix.
