USMC Taps Virtualitics to Turbocharge Osprey Readiness

Must read

Virtualitics wins new USMC contract to deploy AI-driven readiness tools, boosting Osprey fleet availability with predictive, explainable mission intelligence.

Virtualitics, a technology company specializing in data analysis for defense applications, today announced a contract to deploy its Integrated Readiness Optimization (IRO-MX) solution with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (2D MAW).

The solution will be used to enhance aviation sustainment and mission readiness for squadrons operating the MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft.

The new agreement expands Virtualitics’ work across the Department of Defense, reflecting a growing reliance on predictive analytics within the U.S. military. The IRO-MX platform is designed to provide Marine Corps leaders with predictive asset insights, allowing them to forecast maintenance demands, strategically allocate resources, and ensure the availability of aircraft in high-tempo operational settings.

AI in Aviation Sustainment

According to the company, the platform uses A.I.-driven analytics to identify performance trends and expedite maintenance decisions. A key feature of the system is its use of Explainable A.I. (XAI), which is intended to show the user how the system concluded. This “human-centered approach” aims to build trust between maintenance personnel and the automated system, leading to faster adoption and more confident decisions in critical environments.

“This partnership with 2D MAW shows how A.I. solutions are transforming aviation sustainment, helping the Marine Corps maintain fleet readiness, reduce downtime, and strengthen mission success,” said Michael Amori, CEO and co-founder of Virtualitics.

The system is also designed for interoperability, integrating with existing Marine Corps data systems to support joint operations and unify data strategies across the military ecosystem.

Rob Bocek, Chief Revenue Officer for Virtualitics, noted the strategic importance of the airframe, stating, “The MV-22 is one of the most versatile and critical utility assets in modern warfare, and helping its crews sustain operational readiness with trusted A.I. is exactly what our mission is about.”

This contract follows the company’s recent work with the U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command, indicating a broader trend of AI adoption across the various service branches to unify complex data and enhance decision-making.
