Sparkli Raises $5M to Rethink AI Learning for Kids

Zurich-based Sparkli secures $5M pre-seed funding to scale its multimodal AI learning platform for children, families, and schools worldwide.

Sparkli, a Zurich-based AI-driven learning platform for children, has raised $5 million in a pre-seed funding round to bring its multimodal learning engine to families and schools globally.

The company is positioning itself at the intersection of education and artificial intelligence, addressing what it sees as a gap in today’s digital learning tools. While children have unprecedented access to information, Sparkli argues that most platforms still rely on static content and limited formats that fail to support deep, age-appropriate exploration of complex ideas.

Sparkli’s platform uses real-time multimodal AI to turn children’s questions into interactive, multidisciplinary learning journeys. The approach is designed to support skills such as technology literacy, design thinking, sustainability, financial literacy, and global awareness—while encouraging curiosity and independent thinking.

“Our goal is to build agency in the next generation,” said Lax Poojary, founder and chief executive of Sparkli. “Sparkli is designed to turn screen time into an environment where curiosity and independent thinking can develop.”

At the core of Sparkli’s model are three shifts in how children learn: moving from static curricula to real-time exploration; replacing passive content with interactive, multimodal experiences; and prioritizing creativity and problem-solving over memorization. The system builds an evolving interest and knowledge profile for each child, allowing learning experiences to become increasingly personalized and adaptive over time.

The company was founded by a team with backgrounds at Google Area 120, Google Search, and YouTube, alongside engineers and designers with experience in education and academic research, including contributors from ETH Zurich. The platform blends generative AI with pedagogy, motion design, and game mechanics, while incorporating safety features and age-appropriate design for younger users.

The new funding will be used to scale Sparkli’s generative learning engine and prepare for a private beta launch. The platform is currently being validated through a strategic pilot with a large international private school group, providing access to more than 100 schools and over 100,000 students.
