it.com Domains Says It Now Complies With GDPR and NIS2

Must read

Domain registry it.com Domains has confirmed compliance with GDPR and NIS2 frameworks, as it surpasses 150,000 registered domains and expands globally.

it.com Domains, a global domain name registry, said Tuesday it has aligned its operations with two major regulatory frameworks governing data protection and cybersecurity in Europe: the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Network and Information Security Directive (NIS2).

The announcement comes as the company surpasses 150,000 registered domains and continues to expand its international operations.

GDPR sets strict requirements for how organizations collect, store, and process personal data. NIS2, the European Union’s updated cybersecurity directive, imposes obligations on organizations that run critical digital infrastructure regarding risk management, incident reporting, supply-chain security, and operational resilience.

To monitor and document its compliance on an ongoing basis, it.com Domains said it uses Vanta, an automated compliance platform that continuously tests systems and collects evidence. The company has made a dedicated Vanta Trust Center available to customers and partners, providing visibility into its security and compliance posture.

“As our domain space grows, maintaining trust and operational transparency becomes increasingly important,” said Andrey Insarov, chief executive of it.com Domains. “Aligning our operations with frameworks like GDPR and NIS2 is a natural part of building secure, scalable infrastructure.”

Sergey Gorbunov, director of registry services at it.com Domains, said compliance should be treated as a continuous operational discipline rather than a one-time certification. “Automated monitoring and transparency of processes help us maintain consistent security and compliance standards at scale,” he said.

The GDPR and NIS2 alignment follows the company’s recent ISO 27001 certification, an international standard for information security management, and the launch of an abuse prevention and fraud mitigation program. it.com Domains is also recognized as an evaluated Registry Service Provider by ICANN, the nonprofit body that oversees Internet naming systems.
