Check Point integrates with Google Cloud Network Security to deliver nondisruptive, scalable firewall protection across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Check Point Software on Tuesday announced support for Google Cloud Network Security Integration, a move aimed at strengthening cloud firewall protection without introducing downtime or degrading network performance.
The integration is designed to address a persistent challenge for enterprises securing hybrid and multi-cloud environments: how to deploy advanced network security at scale without disrupting mission-critical applications. For heavily regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare and government, even minor performance issues or configuration errors can carry outsized risk.
As cloud environments grow more complex, organizations often struggle to enforce consistent security policies across hundreds—or thousands—of interconnected networks. Manual traffic routing to security appliances can be error-prone, costly and difficult to maintain as demand fluctuates.
A Nondisruptive Approach to Cloud Firewalls
The Google Cloud Network Security Integration enables third-party security platforms such as Check Point CloudGuard Network Security to inspect traffic in line, without requiring changes to existing routing policies or network architectures. The result is consistent, “any-to-any” network security across on-premises data centers, hybrid environments and multi-cloud deployments.
The integration relies on Generic Network Virtualization Encapsulation (GENEVE) tunneling to securely direct traffic to CloudGuard inspection gateways while preserving original packet integrity. Check Point said the approach ensures deep packet inspection without compromising performance—an increasingly important consideration for DevOps and network security teams operating at scale.
Scaling Security Without Adding Complexity
One of the key benefits of the integration is more efficient use of security resources. Granular traffic matching ensures that only relevant network flows are sent for inspection, reducing unnecessary processing and lowering operational costs. Contextual awareness of cloud assets—including object names, tags and security groups—allows policies to adapt automatically as networks change, minimizing the need for manual updates.
By using native Google Cloud objects to define and enforce policies, Check Point enables customers to manage security consistently across regions and environments while reducing administrative overhead.

Faster Deployment, Easier Compliance
The integration also allows infrastructure teams to deliver security as a service to application developers. CloudGuard Network Security can be consumed dynamically and integrated with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible, supporting infrastructure-as-code practices and accelerating CI/CD pipelines.
For compliance-focused organizations, centralized policy management and unified logging simplify audits and regulatory reporting. Security policies can be defined globally and applied consistently across virtual private clouds, regions and zones, all managed through a single Check Point console.
“The goal is to help customers seamlessly extend advanced, multi-layered security between their enterprise networks and Google Cloud,” said Paul Barbosa, vice president of cloud security at Check Point. The integration, he said, allows organizations to protect cloud assets globally while consolidating network security under one management platform.
